German International School Abu Dhabi Benefits from Comprehensive Sophos UTM Protection that Secures and Manages Student Web Access

German International School Abu Dhabi, a private K‑12 school serving 150 students and faculty, faced growing IT security challenges after introducing campus Wi‑Fi and BYOD: controlling inappropriate content, preventing student distraction, conserving bandwidth, and protecting against targeted and insider threats. The school evaluated solutions and selected Sophos, piloting Sophos UTM (SG 330) with Network Protection and Web Protection to address these needs.

Sophos deployed the Sophos UTM solution—combining next‑gen firewall, advanced threat protection, URL filtering (over 35 million sites in 96 categories), SafeSearch/YouTube controls, and layer‑7 application control (identifying 1,300+ apps)—to enforce web policies, shape bandwidth, and secure BYOD access. As a result, German International School Abu Dhabi gained centralized control, detailed logging and reporting, and stronger protection and productivity across its 150‑user campus, enabling administrators to proactively manage threats and restrict non‑academic or inappropriate traffic.
