Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust consolidates with Sophos and renews for another five years

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is a healthcare provider serving about 1.3 million people with roughly 6,300 staff across 200 sites. After the 2017 merger of two trusts—one using McAfee and the other Sophos—EPUT needed to consolidate IT security and chose Sophos, moving to the cloud-based Sophos console and integrating Sophos solutions with Windows 10 ATP.

Sophos deployed Central Intercept X Advanced with EDR, Central Intercept X Advanced for Server, and Central Device Encryption, protecting endpoints and servers while managing BitLocker centrally. The combined setup simplified day-to-day management, automatically resolved roughly nine out of ten incidents, required only four support calls to Sophos, and gave the team greater confidence in security—results that led EPUT to renew its Sophos contract for another five years.
