Del Monte Foods Chooses Consistent, Flexible, and Scalable Security for Its Cloud-First Strategy

Del Monte Foods, Inc., a consumer food products company with about 7,000 employees and roughly 40 locations, needed consistent, flexible, and scalable security for a cloud-first environment after a series of advanced malware and CryptoLocker ransomware attacks that their legacy endpoint solution couldn’t block. To protect its distributed users, servers, and cloud-resident intellectual property while operating with a lean IT team, Del Monte chose Sophos, deploying solutions such as Sophos Central Endpoint Protection and Sophos Intercept X Advanced.

Sophos implemented a broad suite—Intercept X Advanced (with EDR) for endpoints and servers, Sophos Central Device Encryption, Sophos Central Web Protection Advanced, Sophos XG Firewall with RED devices, and Synchronized Security—delivered via a centralized cloud console and supported by a Sophos Technical Account Manager. As a result Del Monte reports “we have not experienced any endpoint problems” and “no CryptoLocker issues” since deployment, rolled out full-disk encryption to all systems, gained unprecedented network and device visibility across its locations, and reduced time spent on monitoring and incident response.
