Webel Technology Gains Protection Without Losing Performance

Webel Technology Limited, a government agency in West Bengal, India, needed to secure and scale its statewide WBSWAN e‑office rollout while maintaining reliable branch connectivity and redundant bandwidth across multiple ISPs. Unsure whether to continue with existing vendors such as Fortinet or Checkpoint, Webel engaged SonicWall to evaluate next‑generation firewall options and perimeter security for its expanding network.

SonicWall ran POCs and workshops with Webel’s teams and Webel purchased more than 50 SonicWall NSa 2650 next‑generation firewalls. The SonicWall deployment improved branch connectivity and overall security posture, enabled SP failover and load balancing across MPLS and ILL links, reduced costs and simplified support by consolidating on a single vendor, and delivered seamless connectivity to more than 50 government offices; Webel is now evaluating SonicWall wireless access points for future projects.
