U.S. Cellular Deploys SonicWall SuperMassive

U.S. Cellular, a U.S. telecommunications provider, needed to increase data capacity and network availability while staying within budget. To meet this challenge it turned to SonicWall, deploying SonicWall SuperMassive next‑generation firewalls in high‑availability configurations, SonicWall TZ Series appliances at more than 300 retail locations, and SonicWall Secure Mobile Access (SMA) solutions.

SonicWall’s deployment delivered higher capacity, scalability, availability and security: per‑device packets‑per‑second rose from 20,000 to over 200,000, the environment exceeded 15 million concurrent sessions, and the data center device footprint was reduced. The SonicWall solution also helped U.S. Cellular meet financial compliance requirements and improve the reliability and security of partner communications and data transfers, enabling a more “always on” network.
