A SonicWall Case Study
Sci-Bono Discovery Centre, an education hub in New Town Johannesburg, faced persistent ransomware risk that could disrupt classes, projects and cost many man-hours to remediate. To protect its environment, Sci-Bono invested in SonicWall solutions, including the SuperMassive 9400 High Availability firewalls, SonicPoints wireless security and the SonicWall Capture Advanced Threat Protection service.
SonicWall implemented Capture ATP to forward unknown files to a cloud sandbox that uses hypervisor analysis, full-system emulation and virtualization to detect and block zero-day attacks, integrated with the existing SuperMassive appliances. The deployment, supported by partner IT Evolution, was approved quickly and completed in a matter of hours; Sci-Bono reports being “100% confident” its network is protected and that the integrated SonicWall solution mitigates the ransomware threat and potential downtime.
