Luton College chooses SonicWall to safeguard its students and data

Luton Sixth Form College, a large UK sixth form serving around 2,850 students and 300 staff, needed to protect its network and student data from unknown/zero‑day threats, ransomware and harmful online content while continuing to support eduroam and student BYOD access. The college also required granular monitoring and statutory KCSiE‑compliant reporting to support its safeguarding obligations. To address these challenges it engaged SonicWall.

SonicWall upgraded the college to the SonicWall Advanced Gateway Security Suite (AGSS), including SonicWall Capture Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Fastvue Reporting for SonicWall and HA SonicWall NSA 5600 appliances. The deployment was quick to configure and gave the safeguarding team user‑friendly, detailed web activity reporting and stronger gateway protection; measurable outcomes included a reduction in malware complaints from about 10 per month to roughly 3 per year, improved visibility of user activity, compliance with KCSiE guidance and reduced IT overhead.
