Loving the taste of virtual desktops to drive growth

Unimat Life, a leading office coffee and beverage retailer in Japan with 2,462 employees, needed to modernize and scale its virtual desktop environment to address performance bottlenecks and rising IT costs as the business expanded. The company implemented an end-to-end VDI solution led by Dell (servers, storage, networking and Wyse thin clients) that also included SonicWall’s NSA 4600 Network Security Appliance to secure remote desktop access and protect centralized data.

SonicWall’s NSA 4600 was deployed alongside the Dell VDI stack and Foglight performance tools to harden the network and ensure reliable, low-latency access to centrally hosted desktops. The combined solution was delivered in four months, enabled deployment of 750 Dell Wyse thin clients and six all‑flash arrays, reduced IT management time (streamlining about 100 desktop replacements per year), improved security and availability, and helped Unimat Life control desktop administration costs while supporting continued growth.
