A SonicWall Case Study
Lebenshilfe Workshops (Lebenshilfe Werkstätten e.V. Schmerlenbach), a German welfare organization supporting roughly 680 people with disabilities and employing about 290 staff, faced increasing cybercrime targeting social institutions. The organization needed reliable cybersecurity for a decentralized environment (a central office plus several branch offices) and wanted to ensure protection against man‑in‑the‑middle attacks, so they turned to SonicWall (partnering with AHS Netzwerktechnik) for a tailored solution.
SonicWall deployed Network Security Manager (NSM), an NSa 4700 High Availability cluster at headquarters, TZ Series firewalls in remote offices, and an Email Security High Availability system. SonicWall’s DPI‑SSL, Capture Advanced Threat Protection, Deep Packet Inspection and Geo‑IP Filtering provide centralized monitoring, segmented networks, automated threat detection/prevention and email protection—enabling Lebenshilfe Workshops to combat ransomware, zero‑day threats, spear phishing and compromised emails while delivering site‑level visibility and high availability across its decentralized sites.
