A SonicWall Case Study
KL University, a highly ranked Indian higher-education institution, faced growing cyberthreats and the need to protect students from harmful web content while managing multiple college and hostel networks. When adding security to its legacy infrastructure caused severe performance and bandwidth-management issues, KL evaluated and selected SonicWall solutions — including SuperMassive 9800 and NSa 5600 NGFWs, Global Management System (GMS), Capture ATP and later SMA 500v — for a high-performance, easy-to-manage next-generation firewall and remote access platform.
SonicWall implemented a proof-of-concept and deployed its NGFWs, GMS, Capture ATP and SMA 500v to enable DPI-SSL, strong content filtering, always-on VPN/MFA and secure remote access for faculty and vendors. The result: improved on- and off-campus connectivity speeds, elimination of frequent disconnections, protection from encrypted attacks, centralized firewall management, and — KL reports — internet access that is now 100% safe, enabling better online learning and robust security governance.
