AKh Linz General Hospital turned to SonicWall to meet strict statutory compliance requirements for high-volume data security. The Department of Medical Technology needed to secure core systems, servers and patient data without creating a data bottleneck, so AKh Linz deployed SonicWall next-generation firewalls (NSA Series) and SonicWall SonicPoint wireless access points to protect its IT landscape.

SonicWall implemented next-generation firewalling with reassembly-free Deep Packet Inspection, DPI SSL for encrypted traffic, intrusion prevention, application intelligence and centralized logging and reporting, all managed flexibly across the network. The solution secured high-volume data while maintaining network performance, improved visibility and manageability, and—according to the Head of Medical IT—has delivered satisfactory results with plans to expand the SonicWall deployment.
