Getty Images readies for Olympics with SonicWall

Getty Images, a global digital media company, faced high-pressure event deployments that required massive, secure photo transfers from temporary, physically insecure venues. To meet tight deadlines, heavy throughput and simple yet robust security needs, Getty Images chose SonicWall and deployed appliances including the E-Class NSA E5500, NSA 3500, NSA 240 and TZ 210 across event sites and offices.

SonicWall implemented a mix of NSA and TZ series firewalls with Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection, multi-core hardware, gateway anti-virus/anti-spyware, intrusion prevention, content filtering and High Availability pairing. The solution delivered measurable performance—Getty transmitted four terabytes of photos across NSA 3500s at the World Cup, now plans to move about 16 terabytes across 26 Olympic venues, and gains up to 3.9 Gbps stateful throughput per E5500—ensuring secure, high-speed photo delivery and continuity of service.
