AUNA Distribución, Spain’s largest group of independent distributors of electrical material, renewable energies, plumbing and HVAC, faced a targeted “CEO attack” that exposed gaps in its email and anti‑spam defenses. The company engaged SonicWall and deployed a suite of protections including TZ Series firewalls, SonicWAVE wireless access points, Capture Client, Capture Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) and Cloud App Security to shore up email and shared‑app security.

SonicWall’s solution combined DPI‑SSL inspection, endpoint protection, ATP sandboxing and CAS for cloud email/app protection, stopping unknown and zero‑day threats before execution and enabling zero‑touch endpoint rollout. The deployment cut fraudulent‑email calls to the technical department by 99%, significantly shortened incident resolution time, improved control and visibility over email accounts and shadow IT, and integrated easily via CAS APIs—at an increase of only €1.50 per user for markedly improved responsiveness.
