A SonicWall Case Study
ASP Online Software, a UK-based provider of web-based B2B applications (Embrace products used by over 50,000 customers), faced high exposure to cyber-attacks because it operates entirely online and still runs some legacy applications. To protect those services without rewriting old code, ASP Online Software turned to SonicWall and its Web Application Firewall (WAF).
SonicWall deployed the WAF as a rented service in a remote datacenter, routing traffic through the WAF which then forwards requests to ASP’s servers so the datacenter absorbs DDoS and flood attacks. The SonicWall WAF removed almost all well-known vulnerabilities—post-deployment scans reduced hundreds of vulnerabilities, including dozens of critical ones, to just a handful of minor issues—protecting legacy apps and allowing ASP Online Software to focus investment on new development.
