A SonicWall Case Study
Amanzimtoti High School, a South African public K–12 school, had a very basic, open network accessible only to administrative staff and lacking security. As the school looked to extend internet access to learners while protecting students, monitoring staff usage, and meeting Protection of Personal Information (PoPI) Act requirements, they turned to SonicWall and its TZ600 Advanced next‑generation firewall.
SonicWall implemented the TZ600, creating separate student and staff networks with distinct rules, integrating with Active Directory for seamless staff access, and providing detailed weekly and monthly reports on detected and blocked threats. The deployment delivered measurable improvements — PoPI compliance, greater visibility and control, an improved security posture, and ongoing threat reporting that gives the school tangible protection and peace of mind.
