Xytex, a sperm bank and laboratory, needed a more reliable way to monitor critical cryogenic storage after industry-wide liquid nitrogen failures highlighted the risks of specimen loss. Their legacy temperature monitoring system was generating too many alarms, creating staff fatigue and making it harder to identify true emergencies. Xytex turned to Sonicu for a more user-friendly remote wireless monitoring solution.

Sonicu implemented ultra-low temperature monitoring inside the liquid nitrogen tanks, a non-buffered probe on the outside for faster detection of temperature changes, Duo meters, SoniLink connectivity, and the SoniCloud mobile app across multiple locations. The new system helped Xytex improve alerting, simplify regulatory compliance, and monitor five locations with zero annual probe calibration time. Sonicu gave the team greater confidence in protecting long-term specimens and reduced stress around overnight monitoring and audits.
