Exide Technologies - Customer Case Study

Exide Technologies, a multinational lead-acid battery manufacturer, needed a way to continuously monitor negative air pressure inside airtight lead abatement enclosures at a closed recycling facility in Vernon, CA. The company had to provide real-time pressure data locally and remotely, maintain compliance with air quality rules, and capture 15-minute averages, while also needing sensors that could be moved as project conditions changed. Sonicu provided its wireless ARC 440 digital meters with integrated local displays and pressure sensors to meet these needs.

Sonicu’s solution sent pressure data over WiFi to the SoniCloud platform for 24/7 remote access and automated daily reporting. This gave Exide real-time local readings, remote visibility for operators and management, and compliance documentation without manual logging. As a result, negative air pressure compliance became easier to verify, reports were automatically emailed to users, and Sonicu hardware could be relocated as needed throughout the project.
