Intuit chooses Nexus repository management to simplify and speed development

Intuit, a Mountain View–based provider of business and financial management software (including QuickBooks and TurboTax), was modernizing its development model toward a central “core group” that would publish reusable components. Legacy builds used Ant, IDE builds, Visual Studio, and artifacts were kept in Artifactory and SMB shares, which led to frequent build failures and difficulty controlling third‑party components as open source use grew.

Intuit adopted Apache Maven and Sonatype Nexus Pro—chosen for superior performance, P2, staging, procurement features, and strong support—to centralize component publishing and consumption. After the rollout they standardized on Maven, gained a stable repository platform, integrated smoothly with Sonar, Hudson and other tools, used Nexus staging to keep teams in sync and eliminate miscommunication, and quickly built a complete CI system with integrated testing and static analysis.
