CleverTap reaches a high standard of code quality with SonarQube

CleverTap, an all-in-one customer engagement platform powering over 10,000 apps and creator of TesseractDB™, needed to codify tribal knowledge around code quality, testing, and hygiene across languages like Java, JavaScript, Vue.JS, Objective-C and Swift. To measure test coverage, set consistent standards for new hires, and integrate with their Bitbucket (later GitHub) workflows, they selected SonarQube from SonarSource.

By integrating SonarQube (SonarSource) into their CI pipeline with Maven and Jacoco, CleverTap enforced quality gates, PR decoration, and coverage monitoring. The result: coverage rose from 40% to over 70% in about four years (with an 85% quality gate target), estimated savings of 16.6 hours per week by removing a PR review cycle across ~50 weekly PRs, and improved developer practices and faster, cleaner reviews thanks to SonarSource’s static analysis and learning guidance.
