Cisco IT needed a better way to manage software quality as code-related issues accumulated and code reviews were handled in a disorganized way across teams. There was no common tool or rule set, no clear record of defects, and little visibility into how quality changed over time.

Cisco IT chose SonarSource’s SonarQube Server because it integrated well with Jenkins and supported the team’s move toward continuous integration. Cisco IT now analyzes more than 9 million lines of Java, PL/SQL and C/C++ code in 90 applications, with an expectation that this will rise to 150 million lines of code, and says SonarSource has improved delivery excellence, engineering excellence, and cost savings through earlier defect detection, standardized code reviews, and daily quality reporting.
