Metlink cuts asset creation time to 1/10th with Somar Digital

Metlink, the public transport authority for the Wellington region, needed to streamline the creation and delivery of timely, accurate travel information while reducing manual effort and design overhead. To address this challenge, they partnered with vendor Somar Digital to design and build a suite of integrated digital tools.

Somar Digital implemented solutions including a Poster & Flyer Builder, Printable Timetables, and real-time Service Alerts, all powered by live GTFS data. The measurable impact was significant, with Metlink estimating they could now generate assets in about one-tenth of the time previously required. These tools from Somar Digital also enhanced the customer experience with consistent, accessible information across websites, apps, and on-bus announcements, promoting smarter travel choices.
