A Solver Case Study
Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority (LCSWMA), which manages municipal trash and recyclables for Lancaster County and nearby communities, struggled with fragmented, duplicated data across multiple systems and time‑consuming manual reporting. The organization needed a data warehouse and reporting solution that integrated with Microsoft Dynamics GP, worked in an Excel interface, and provided an online portal so users could produce timely, accurate reports without heavy IT involvement.
Solver (formerly BI360) implemented a centralized data warehouse, Excel‑based report writer and online portal, integrating the scale management system and accounting data and providing tailored budgeting and forecasting forms (tipping revenue, energy revenue, P&L inputs). The solution reduced manual report generation, improved data consistency and analysis speed, enabled more accurate budgeting and forecasting, and set the organization up to expand reporting and integrate additional data sources across departments.
