Scotch College Improves Workforce Planning Decisions with the Help of Solver

Scotch College is a leading independent boys’ school in Perth, Australia, serving pre‑Kindergarten to Year 12. The college struggled with workforce planning because HR and payroll systems produced inconsistent staffing and cost figures, making it hard to create accurate budgets and staffing schedules for the many programs and activities the school runs.

Working with Solver APAC and partner Access Analytic, Scotch College integrated HR, payroll and general ledger data into Solver to create a single version of the truth. The new solution improved forecasting (including multi‑term enrollment forecasts), gave users the ability to self‑manage and tweak reports without IT, increased confidence in staffing and budget numbers, and paved the way for further enhancements like Power BI and timetable integration.
