MultiCare mobilizes scalable, sustainable COVID-19 care delivery with Solv

MultiCare Urgent Care, part of the MultiCare Health System serving Washington state, faced an early COVID-19 surge in Seattle with limited testing, overwhelmed providers, and a large “worried well” population seeking guidance. To manage rapid telemedicine demand and triage patients safely, MultiCare partnered with Solv to deploy a Solv-powered automated COVID-19 symptom assessment bot and virtual care access.

Solv implemented a scalable triage and scheduling solution that guided patients through adaptive symptom questions and routed them to virtual or in-person care, including scheduled video visits. In the first 30 days 20,948 patients used the assessment bot, 48% were recommended for virtual care and 36% for convenient care; virtual visits increased from about 35 per day to 900 and provider telemedicine adoption rose from ~15 clinicians to nearly 100%. Solv continues to work with MultiCare to expand the bot’s clinical capabilities.
