A leading U.S. state entity that provides electronic filing and payment services encountered a testing roadblock when its Active Directory environment would not function if test machines’ system dates were moved forward for future-date testing due to Kerberos authentication. Solution-Soft implemented Time Machine, a Microsoft-certified utility that simulates future system dates without changing the actual system clock, allowing test machines to remain part of Active Directory. With Solution-Soft’s Time Machine in place, the team was able to successfully run future-date tests across both online and batch components, remove the Active Directory barrier, and efficiently validate how processes would perform at future dates.
