U.K. Bank Saves Time and Money Using Time Machine®

Solution-Soft assisted a u.k. major financial services group that needed to test a large application roll-out across Windows Active Directory servers and a Unisys mainframe. The customer’s challenge was running future-date tests on both platforms without changing Windows server clocks, which would create Active Directory security problems and lock test servers out of the domain.

Solution-Soft implemented Time Machine for Windows to provide per-user virtual clocks so Windows applications could run on a simulated future date while actual server clocks stayed unchanged. This enabled synchronized testing with the mainframe, avoided domain lockouts, and saved the bank significant time and resources—making testing possible without the “tremendous resources and cost” it would otherwise have required.
