Time Machine® helps Avanade & a Large U.K Bank Achieve Critical Delivery and Cost Savings for Mortgage Origination Project

Avanade Inc. was supporting a major global financial services provider on a Mortgage Origination Project that required extensive time-triggered testing and live user training. The project ran in a Windows 2008 Active Directory environment where changing the system clock was not possible, so Avanade needed a way to validate expiry, billing, and other date-dependent workflows without rebuilding systems or disrupting other users. Avanade engaged Solution-Soft and its Time Machine product to address this challenge.

Solution-Soft implemented Time Machine to simulate past and future dates for individual testers and trainees, making SQL Server and application workflows believe they were running at the required times while leaving other users unaffected. This approach enabled end-to-end testing and realistic training, reduced testing time, manpower, and system resource needs by an estimated 3–5x, and saved the client hundreds of thousands of dollars in deployment costs.
