Time Machine® Enables Time Travel at the Equiniti Group For Claybrook application testing in a Secure Active Directory Environment

Equiniti Group, a UK provider of administration and payment solutions for large clients, needed to perform future and retro date testing of its Claybrook Compendia pension application in a secure Windows Active Directory environment to meet new pension legislation. Because Active Directory and Kerberos authentication prevent changing system clocks, conventional time-shift testing was impractical and isolating servers risked not mirroring production. Solution-Soft’s Time Machine was evaluated as a potential fix.

Solution-Soft deployed Time Machine across web, application and SQL tiers and used the Time Machine Web Console to broadcast synchronized virtual time to target servers, enabling multiple testers to perform concurrent time-shifted scenarios without altering system clocks. The solution allowed Equiniti to validate pension interest calculations and policy changes, simplified testing, reduced risk and effort, helped ensure compliance and produced significant time and cost savings for the Claybrook implementation.
