Atos Origin was working with a leading Australian environmental services company to roll out a Progress ERP scheduler for 500+ users across Australia and New Zealand in a 10‑server Citrix Metaframe farm and faced the challenge of supporting four time zones without costly server duplication or rewriting the Progress application. The vendor Solution-Soft and its Time Machine product were evaluated as a possible fix to the time zone and scheduling limitations that Metaframe 2.0 corrections and a database-backed application prevented.

Solution-Soft’s Time Machine was installed across the Metaframe farm, with time zone offsets defined per user or user group, and the rollout was completed quickly by a single engineer. The result was accurate local times and Progress schedules for all users, correct billing data passed to SAP, and avoidance of major hardware, licensing and development costs that would have been required to rewrite or duplicate servers.
