Nationwide Selects Time Machine® as an Integral Solution in Transitioning to Windows 2000 Active Directory

Nationwide, a large insurance and financial services company, needed to continue testing applications against future rate schedules after migrating its test environment from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 Active Directory. Because Kerberos authentication in Active Directory prevents changing the system clock, their prior method of forward-dating servers no longer worked, so Nationwide evaluated options and selected Solution-Soft's Time Machine product to meet this requirement.

Solution-Soft deployed Time Machine to provide virtual time containers that let servers and applications run in past, frozen or future dates without altering the system clock, preserving domain authentication. Nationwide implemented the solution in five of six business areas requiring forward-date testing, enabling reliable 30/60/90+ day scenario tests without code changes or rebuilds, and reported stable operation after a year with no issues.
