Mutual of Enumclaw uses Time Machine® to validate all Temporal Logic in New Distributed Insurance Policy System

Mutual of Enumclaw Insurance Group was rolling out a new distributed Windows-based insurance policy system that needed to interface with an IBM iSeries backend and correctly handle numerous time-based events (policy expirations, month-end and year-end reporting, billing cycles). To validate the system’s temporal logic and avoid post-go-live issues, they engaged Solution-Soft and its Time Machine product to test complex aging and date-dependent processes.

Solution-Soft’s Time Machine gave testers unique virtual dates and a published test calendar so different modules could run simultaneously under different simulated times, enabling scenarios like running billing at month-end while checking policy expirations five years ahead. This allowed Mutual of Enumclaw to accelerate testing (a month’s worth of processing in a week, or years in months), clear and reload data for retesting, increase test coverage and confidence, and reduce the risk of production problems after go-live.
