Hewitt Associates LLC, a global HR consulting firm with over 6,000 employees and 2,800 clients, faced growing disk-space demands—over 250 GB on 128 drives—made worse by government audit duplication and slow tape retrieval processes. Solution-Soft implemented SafeCapacity’s policy-driven automatic in-place compression and migration (compressing files not accessed for two weeks or a month and increasing compression during peak months), which regularly frees about 50 GB and recovered more than 50 GB (about 20% of the HP 3000’s disk space).
