Global Insurance Company, a world leader in financial protection and wealth management, needed to send a weekly 54 GB disaster recovery copy from its offices in France to off-site servers in Belgium within a few hours each weekend. Traditional FTP solutions repeatedly failed to complete the transfer in the available window, so they turned to Solution-Soft and its SafeVelocity product to solve the problem.

Solution-Soft deployed SafeVelocity (server in Belgium, client in France) and used on-the-fly compression, parallel multi-threaded processing and automatic fault recovery to complete transfers reliably over a 10 Mb link. SafeVelocity resumed transfers after 50+ interruptions (even more than 75 consecutive failures in one case), was configured for 2,500 retries, completed the weekly transfer in hours—faster than local copies—and ran without failure or data loss over a year of use.
