France Telecom Classifies Time Machine® as a Necessity for Ongoing App Development and Data Simulation Requirements

Ares, France's leading player in mid- and large-sized server sales, maintenance and consulting, worked with client France Telecom to solve a major date-and-time testing bottleneck for the Accounts Receivable development environment. Changing system dates required stopping all date-sensitive processes and restarting servers, which halted development and allowed only one time-sensitive test at a time; Ares engaged vendor Solution-Soft and its Time Machine product to avoid building costly duplicate test environments.

Solution-Soft’s Time Machine enabled multiple time offsets per user login within a single environment, so a dozen developers could test different end-of-period scenarios simultaneously without additional hardware or licenses. As a result, Ares reported that France Telecom saved “hundreds of thousands of euros” in development man-hours, hardware, and software-licensing costs, reduced deployment delays, and classified Time Machine as a strategic, long-term necessity.
