Adaptec, a global leader in storage solutions, needed to reclaim disk space on five file and print servers supporting about 1,500 users as data growth was outpacing available capacity. To address this, Adaptec worked with Solution-Soft and deployed the e-Space product to automatically compress and archive files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, engineering files) online based on policy.

Solution-Soft installed e-Space across the five servers and ran it full-time; within two days Adaptec freed significant space, realizing 25–45% overall disk savings and 35–40% on Office files, and one heavily used server went from ~35 GB to ~31 GB (about a 10% margin). e-Space compressed/decompressed at 1–6 MB/s, was transparent to users, did not change file attributes, avoided buying additional arrays or long restores, and kept servers performing well. Solution-Soft’s e-Space delivered quick, measurable capacity relief and reduced storage management effort.
