T-Hrvatski Telekom Chooses Hitachi Storage and Solix Technology to Build Innovative Oracle Database Archival Solution

T-Hrvatski Telekom, Croatia’s leading fixed and mobile telecom provider, faced rapidly growing volumes of call records and subscriber data that outstripped its existing SAN infrastructure. The growth caused batch processing and database maintenance to overrun maintenance windows, threatening service levels and customer satisfaction unless a scalable, online archiving solution was found.

T-HT implemented Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V (deployed in high-availability and remote-DR configurations) together with Solix Enterprise Data Management for online Oracle archiving, delivered by channel partner Computech. The nondisruptive solution allowed one month of data to be archived while remaining online to applications, halved database maintenance time, cut customer-query response times by more than 20%, eliminated representative queuing and delivered scalable, long-term investment protection.
