Leading UK Broadcast Company Challenged with Data Separation for Company Divestiture

Arqiva, the UK’s leading transmitter and broadcast services company (formerly NTL Broadcast), faced a tight-mimeline divestiture requirement to separate ~100GB of business data from its former parent’s Oracle 11i system. With an original estimate of 6–9 months and high cost, IBM and NTL needed a partner who could preserve referential integrity, maintain Oracle support for both instances, and complete the “instance split” without risking data loss.

Working with IBM, Solix deployed ARCHIVEjinni™—using its Oracle metadata knowledge base and web-based Configurator to generate and validate data-subsetting code—then executed rigorous integration testing. The project finished in three months (under one-third of the original schedule), cut costs by about 50%, saved roughly 40 developer man‑months, and preserved data integrity and Oracle support for the separated instances.
