Case Study: GS1 Finland helps the food industry comply with EUDR with Solita

A Solita Case Study

GS1 Finland helps food industry prepare for EUDR in 1.5 years with Solita

GS1 Finland, an international non-profit organization managing supply chain standards, faced the challenge of helping the food industry comply with the EU's new deforestation regulation (EUDR). The regulation required companies to achieve unprecedented traceability and transparency for raw materials like cocoa and coffee, demanding new solutions for information sharing and process review. GS1 Finland partnered with Solita for this development project.

Solita helped by planning and implementing workshops and creating comprehensive descriptions of information flows between different systems. This provided a clear solution proposal for EUDR information production and distribution, giving companies a unified understanding and common language. The results included improved traceability, better supply chain communication, and positive international interest in the information flow models, contributing to greater transparency in European food chains and concrete deforestation mitigation.
