CSC launches Opin.fi with Solita to unite 37 higher education institutions

The customer CSC, a Finnish organization supporting higher education institutions, collaborated with vendor Solita on the Digivisio2030 initiative. Their challenge was to build a national digital platform to make continuous learning accessible to everyone and to strengthen Finland's educational competitiveness on a global scale.

Solita implemented the Opin.fi service, which consolidates open course offerings from all 37 Finnish higher education institutions into a single, easy-to-use platform. The solution included strategic design to build a shared vision, the creation of a shared data model, and agile development conducted in a multi-vendor environment. The results were the successful launch of the national service, which provides an engaging pathway for learners and has laid the groundwork for future AI-assisted services, strengthening national competence and having significant societal impact.
