SAIC, a defense contractor based in San Diego, faced the challenge of effectively printing corporate demand documents and applications. They were outsourcing this work to an external copy shop, which was inefficient and costly. To bring this printing in-house, they implemented the Solimar Print/Director system from Solimar Systems to optimize network printing on their Xerox printers.

The solution from Solimar Systems enabled high-speed PostScript and PCL network printing, allowing SAIC to print a wide variety of documents directly. This brought key applications like their quarterly Computergram newsletter in-house, adding highlight color and printing nearly 200 pages per minute. The results included reduced manual operations, lower production costs, efficient reprints and archiving, and the elimination of wasted paper and costly external print runs.
