A Solimar Systems Case Study
PrimeNet, a direct marketing service bureau, faced a significant challenge when a new business opportunity required them to process IPDS data streams from a customer's IBM mainframe and print to a Xerox DocuTech 180, which did not natively support that format. They also needed to modify the data stream to replace an obsolete barcode with a new 2-D barcode compatible with their intelligent inserter equipment to avoid higher operational costs. PrimeNet turned to vendor Solimar Systems for a solution.
Solimar Systems implemented an integrated solution using their iCONVERT, Solimar Print Director Enterprise, and Rubika products. This allowed PrimeNet to transform the IPDS data into PDF and then use Rubika to re-engineer the documents, masking the old barcode and inserting the new one. As a result, PrimeNet won the new business and increased its annual sales revenue by $450,000. The Solimar solution also provided the flexibility to handle diverse customer workflows and reduced operational expenses by eliminating the need for costly application reprogramming.
