General Nutrition Centers (GNC), a large nutritional supplement retailer, faced a challenge orchestrating internal document printing across their multiple operating systems and platforms. Their vigorous growth created compatibility problems with their mainframe printing system, causing a backlog. The Solimar Print/Director provided a modular Windows-based print server that converted data streams, enabling seamless printing from all of GNC's systems to both PostScript and PCL printers without any reprogramming. The solution offered drag-and-drop queue management for load balancing and instant job recovery, eliminating backlogs and saving significant time and costs. With Solimar, GNC gained the flexibility to manage 1.5 million pages per month from a single terminal, preparing them for future expansion.
