Wandercraft - Customer Case Study

Wandercraft, a Paris-based robotics company whose mission is “Building an ordinary life for extraordinary people,” set out to develop a crutchless exoskeleton to enable paraplegic wheelchair users to walk dynamically. To meet the technical, safety and regulatory challenges of medical‑grade robotics, Wandercraft relied on SolidWorks and its 3D design platform (including SOLIDWORKS Premium, Electrical, Simulation and Composer).

Using SolidWorks’ 3D solutions, Wandercraft designed and assembled the exoskeleton’s ~300 parts, simulated and iterated actuator and system behavior, integrated electrical wiring, and produced certification-ready documentation to streamline collaboration with suppliers and manufacturers. The outcome is a working, 12‑joint crutchless exoskeleton with encouraging clinical results—100% of trial participants walked at least ten yards without pain—and a clear path toward certification and market release.
