Visitech Making Cricket Safer with SOLIDWORKS Simulation

Visitech, led by product designer Alan Meeks, was commissioned by Masuri to reinvent a cricket helmet that could reliably absorb impacts from an 80 mph ball, protect the face without obstructing vision, and — crucially — be economical enough for club-level players. To meet this challenge Visitech relied on SolidWorks, using SolidWorks Simulation to evaluate safety, visibility and manufacturability during the redesign.

Using SolidWorks Simulation, Visitech iteratively optimized helmet mouldings to minimize metal and plastic while preserving strength, cutting the need for costly physical prototypes and enabling faster, cheaper development. The result for Visitech and Masuri was the launch of the Legacy series — a commercially successful, safety‑focused helmet line — and subsequent protective additions like the Stem Guard, demonstrating improved safety performance and lower production cost profiles thanks to SolidWorks.
