Case Study: USSC Group achieves breakthrough firefighter-seat development in four months with SolidWorks

A SolidWorks Case Study

Preview of the USSC Group Case Study

USSC Group Taking specialty seat development to a higher level with SolidWorks solutions

USSC Group, a global manufacturer of specialty vehicle seats, needed to upgrade its design platform to improve collaboration with partners and customers, better visualize concepts, and more effectively demonstrate product usage. After evaluating competing CAD systems, USSC Group standardized on SolidWorks, adopting solutions including SolidWorks Professional, SolidWorks Premium, SolidWorks Simulation Premium, SolidWorks Enterprise PDM, and SolidWorks Composer to modernize its engineering tools.

With SolidWorks (14 licenses deployed) and support from reseller Prism Engineering, USSC Group developed the Valor firefighter seat—the industry’s first single-point release seat—in just four months, including simulations, renderings, and animations. SolidWorks enabled tighter integration with SCBA and truck models, stronger design communication, faster time-to-market, and improved partner/customer data interoperability, resulting in a patent-pending breakthrough product and measurable gains in development speed.
