Unlocking the Potential Of Power Grids To Shorten EV Charging Times with 3DEXPERIENCE Works Solutions

Kwetta needed a fast, cost-effective way to develop and deploy high-power EV charging systems that unlock unused capacity on existing power grids to shorten charging times. To meet this challenge, Kwetta turned to SolidWorks' 3DEXPERIENCE Works cloud-based modeling, design, simulation, data management, and collaboration tools (including 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS Premium and Professional).

Using SolidWorks’ 3DEXPERIENCE Works solutions, Kwetta designed a 200 kW scalable, grid‑optimized DCFC SkyHook charger and Prime Grid Gateway (supporting up to eight SkyHooks and up to 1 MW per gateway), cut development to market-ready designs faster (1,300+ unique parts and assemblies in 10 weeks with a single designer), halved charging times versus conventional systems, and reduced testing time and costs through simulation—accelerating deployment of charging hubs and overall time to market.
