TrackedMobility Founder Fighting to Help People with Disabilities Access the Great Outdoors

TrackedMobility, founded by Cordell “Cisco” Jeter, is developing a low-cost tracked wheelchair to help people with disabilities access beaches, trails, parks, and other outdoor areas that conventional wheelchairs cannot reach. The challenge is to optimize the design for performance and manufacturability while keeping costs low enough for broad public use; development to date has been done in SOLIDWORKS.

Using SOLIDWORKS, TrackedMobility advanced its chair design with the help of a contract engineer, with the goal of reducing costly physical prototyping and making the components easier to mass-produce and assemble. The result is a third working prototype nearing final development, with a design intended for affordable rental deployment at beaches, parks, resorts, and attractions.
