A SolidWorks Case Study
Tokyo Metropolitan Rokugou Technical High School, an industrial high school focused on advanced engineering and design, needed tools to teach students spline variation and complex curved-surface modeling so graduates would have stronger job prospects. To address this gap the school evaluated and chose SolidWorks (SolidWorks Education Edition) as the CAD platform to introduce sketching, visualization, and assembly skills into its curriculum.
After a trial, teachers adopted SolidWorks across courses and used the SolidWorks Education Edition to teach modelling, assemblies, and rendering. With SolidWorks, the school shortened design time by 90 percent, achieved a 95 percent SolidWorks CAD software proficiency rate, increased students’ understanding of engineering logic by 95 percent, and gained photorealistic rendering capabilities—delivering measurable improvements in both skill and productivity.
