Three Brothers Launch Innovative Pressed-water Bottle Company With SOLIDWORKS for Entrepreneurs

Pressa Inc., founded by brothers Jesse, Luke and Mason Hambly, set out to turn Luke’s college design project for a pressed-fruit water bottle into a manufacturable product and business. Their challenge was transforming the concept into production-ready designs and prototypes, and they used SolidWorks (SOLIDWORKS Education Edition and SOLIDWORKS for Entrepreneurs product development software) to develop and iterate the Pressa Bottle.

SolidWorks enabled Pressa to refine designs, produce 3D‑printed prototypes for a Kickstarter that raised $40,000, and collaborate with moldmakers to optimize parts and hide parting lines; the company secured an international patent, accepted $150,000 for 25% equity on Dragon’s Den, expanded the line to plastic, glass and metal models, and projected sales of 200,000 bottles in 2019.
