The Perfect Duet Dita Audio and SOLIDWORKS

Project Perfection, the company behind the Dita Audio brand, set out to engineer "The Answer"—a best-in-class personal portable earphone—by rethinking every component from the 3.5 mm TRS connector to cable, chassis and solder. To achieve this level of detail and sound quality, Project Perfection used SolidWorks applications to design, test and simulate different parts and materials throughout development.

Using SolidWorks, Project Perfection shortened design-to-manufacture-to-market time, enabled cross-functional collaboration so marketing could adapt 3D designs, and improved engineer-to-order efficiency through digital design knowledge. The approach produced tangible results: The Answer earphones won the 2015 President’s Design Award and delivered a faster, more repeatable product development process.
